Work Design Magazine’s Katie Sargent along with the Interiors team at HOK NYC collectively logged 40+ hours working in Kimball’s newest task chair, Eager. Here’s what they experienced.
Meet Eager by Kimball International

5 Ergonomic Features & Adjustments
TENSION CONTROL
Perfectly placed adjustment on the lower right hand side of the chair allows you to increase or decrease tension of the chair’s tilt to match your body weight. At the proper tension, we were able to lean back easily while providing balanced support when reclining.
PNEUMATIC LIFT
Also located on the right hand side of the base, you can raise or lower the seat of the chair until our feet could rest flat on the ground which minimized pressure placed under thighs. Pro tip from Kimball: to ensure smooth operations, raise and lower the seat monthly.
SEAT SLIDE
With a generous range of 60mm, we could adjust seat depth to a position that best accommodated the lengths of all of our different legs. Doing so reduces pressure behind thighs providing long-term comfort.
ARMREST DEPTH/WIDTH/PIVOT
This was key. Adjustable armrests helped relieve the strain on the neck and shoulders.
ARM HEIGHT
We raised / lowered arms to support forearms and keep shoulders in a neutral posture.

What We Loved Most
Over the course of a month, each of our six reviewers spent as much time as they could working from the Eager chair and their thoughts were unanimous: This is a great everyday chair.
This chair is a great commercial/office-use chair. I would be happy working on this chair every day.
The cushioning on the seat and mesh back were comfortable to sit on for back-to-back Zoom calls. Our reviewers felt supported by the backrest throughout the day and loved being able to easily adjust and recline the chair to their individual liking. The Eager chair’s height adjustability even paired perfectly with one reviewer’s height adjustable desk. The wheels were able to smoothly and seamlessly glide over a variety of surfaces including carpeting, hardwood, and even the tricky edge of a rug.
What our reviewers really loved was the versatility of Eager. The chair features a clean and sleek profile that allows it to easily fit into any space. With a variety of color options for the seat, frame and mesh, Eager can suit any environment.
