Grounded in timeless Swedish design sensibilities, the Melete side chair is a uniquely-shaped, multifunctional chair that provides comfort and variability in our daily lives. Melete can be customized according to individual needs, highlighting the importance of the furniture’s adaptability to the design environment. The chair’s clean lines, mid-century modern styling and Swedish design principles will make Melete a standout piece in any room. This is Keilhauer’s first collaboration with the Stockholm-based design group Afteroom.

In addition to its base, Melete is constructed from just two sculptural pieces – the backrest and seat – that join together to create a chair whose shape is welcoming and friendly. Melete’s backrest supportively curves around the user’s body, opening up into two armrests that encourage the user to sit down, relax, and stay awhile. The soft curves of Melete outline the balance between functionality and aesthetics, which are combined with a functional structure that ensures comfort and durability.

With three available heights – side, counter, and bar; five base options; and available with or without arms, the Melete chair adds elegance and customizable versatility to any element of the workspace, from offices and boardrooms to corridors and lounges.
