Work Design Magazine’s Katie Sargent along with the Interiors team at Perkins & Will NYC collectively logged 40+ hours working in Humanscale’s popular task chair, Path. Here’s what they experienced along with a deeper look into the sustainability story.
Meet Path by Humanscale
Path by Humanscale is a task chair sustainably designed for every body. It adjusts to each chair user by their bodyweight using a patented Gravity Mechanism™ allowing a custom experience for each individual. The chair has sustainable written all over it, from its durable form to its upcycled plastic bottle textile. The Path chair isn’t only effective, it is also visually pleasing and can fit into any environment seamlessly!

What We Loved Most
Over the course of a month, each of our reviewers spent as much time as they could working from the Path chair and the verdict is in – Path offers the best of both worlds! Comfort and function.
This chair is comfortable, looks great, and is sustainable. What more could you want in a chair?
The seat has an internal gravity mechanism that automatically adjusts to each user based on their bodyweight, so no need to worry about fumbling around with manual chair adjustments! The height adjustability is fine. Our reviewers felt supported in the lower lumbar area through long days of catching up on emails and video calls. They thought the aesthetic of the chair was equally as impressive as its comfort and sustainable footprint. It is soft with round edges and fits and gives off warmth and comfort. The textiles and color options are all rich and luxurious, while still remaining durable and environment-focused.
